Betsy is originally from the Chicago area, where she grew up with her brother David Eigenberg (Actor) “Steve Brady” of “Sex And The City” and sister Helen Eigenberg (actress), who now both reside in Los Angeles. Growing up in a creative family, Betsy found her artistic niche through her love for art and traveling. She has lived on both coasts as well as living abroad in England, Italy, and the Czech Republic. She has traveled extensively in Europe, North Africa and Australia. She strongly believes that studying, traveling and working abroad has helped her develop skills that are important in connecting and communicating with people while adapting to different living situations.
Betsy received a Bachelor of Art degree in Art History from DePaul University in Chicago, a post-Baccalaureate in Art History and Restoration from the Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy and a Master's degree in International Studies from University in Durham, England.
Betsy has worked in art galleries and museums in Chicago and Manhattan. While living and studying abroad, she taught English to foreigners and gave art historical tours. These exciting years in Europe also created the perfect backdrop for her to continue to absorb art and culture. Betsy’s study of art history and culture later evolved to also include the study of politics, with particular emphasis on international relations & diplomacy.
After living in Europe for several years, she moved back to the States to reside in Manhattan, where she met and married, Jon Njardarson. Ithaca became a new destination when her husband took a position at Cornell University. Having loved living in cities over the years, she has grown to appreciate Ithaca’s serene and peaceful lifestyle. The natural beauty of the surrounding area has become a sanctuary for her and her family. She and her husband love to spend time with their dogs Foska (Shiba Inu) & Savoy (Papillion), especially hiking on the many wonderful nature trails near her home.
Betsy feels that there are great similarities in buying art and property. They are both important investments, which uniquely reflect ones personal preferences and lifestyle. Whether it’s buying property or art, it is one of the most important and exciting investments that a person could make.
Betsy has a great eye for detail and a keen natural ability to facilitate negotiations and close transactions. She is confident she can help you find the perfect home to suit your lifestyle.
Betsy believes in supporting local artists and has developed an ongoing local art advertisement campaign in the Real Estate book in The Ithaca Journal to help promote local talent. Ithaca has a thriving artist community which Betsy is committed in supporting.
It if often said that art imitates life. My goal is to guide and support you in finding the home that best reflects your individual style and taste.
